some great blurbs here, Denise. I love the Twilight one and the wheelchair one. I think book blurbs in the sense of accolades by other people plastered on the back cover are not worth the paper they're printed on, but the purely descriptive ones like here are both informative and enticing.
Such a super - and perfectly timed - post, Denise! I've been working on a post about first impressions, and not judging a book by its cover - and your words here have really resonated with me! I loved all those blurbs you chose to feature. 😊

Noooooo!.
Sometimes writers need recommendations, Terry. Just like on Substack. Be kind...
Hi Prue, I wasn't being unkind. I was alluding to blurbs that are gushing, uninformative and often misleading. See, eg, https://thecritic.co.uk/issues/august-september-2023/what-book-blurbs-really-mean/
Well said, Denise.
As a reader, I'm all for the 'Elevator Pitch' blurb. Few words big hook.
As a writer? Gaaaaah!!!!!!
Absolutely!

Thank you so much Rebecca. Once I started trawling through my books I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. 😊
I love a good book trawl! 😊
